Furyk Looks to Put 2011 Campaign Behind Him

Ken Jowdy Golf brings you this piece from ESPN.  Jim Furyk, 41, is coming off a frustrating year in which he endured the worst slump of his 16-year career.  After having won three times during the 2010 season, including the Tour Championship that led to the FedEx Cup title and player of the year honors, he didn't win once in 2011.  He also missed the cut in four consecutive PGA Tour events in which he played, something he hadn't done since 1995.  For more read here:

PGA Tour to Make Qualifying Changes

Ken Jowdy Golf brings you this update about the PGA Tour's qualifying process.  The PGA Tour might make major changes to its qualifying process. The changes will affect the way golfers reach the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. The Q-school returns to the Coachella Valley this week with six days of play at PGA West where out of 173 players, only the top 25 at the end of 108 holes will earn exemptions to the PGA Tour. "The next number of players closest to 50 (for example, 52 is closer to 50 than 47) will earn full exemptions to the Nationwide Tour. The rest of the field will earn conditional status on the Nationwide Tour based on their finishes in the event."
